Lalitpur: The 34th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Floriculture Association Nepal (FAN) has been successfully concluded. The program was held under the chairmanship of FAN President Rajesh Bhakta Shrestha, with Anjan Shrestha, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), as the chief guest.

The event was attended by FNCCI Vice President and Chairperson of the Commodity Council Naresh Lal Shrestha; Senior Horticulture Development Officer at the National Fruit Development Centre Srijana Paudel; Chairperson of the Agriculture Enterprise Centre Shiva Prasad Ghimire; former FAN President Min Bahadur Tamang; President of the Nepal Agricultural Machinery Business Association Krishna Sharma; representatives of various organizations; flower entrepreneurs; and office bearers of the association.

Highlighting the need for mutual support during the current period of natural disasters, FNCCI President Anjan Shrestha stated that all stakeholders should extend a helping hand to one another to increase the production and productivity of Nepali products. He also stated that FNCCI has always been at the forefront of supporting the development of Nepal’s floriculture sector.

Speaking at the 34th AGM, FAN President Rajesh Bhakta Shrestha announced that the association is preparing to organize the 4th International Flora Expo-in March25 to 28, 2027. He stated that the exhibition is being organized with the objective of promoting, protecting, and commercializing Nepal’s floriculture sector, as well as expanding the reach of flowers and flower-related products in national and international markets.

He expressed confidence that the 4th International Flora Expo-2027 would provide an important platform for exchanging experiences with international floriculture entrepreneurs and help Nepal’s floriculture sector gain greater access to international markets.

The AGM discussed FAN’s annual progress report, upcoming policies and programs, financial activities, and the overall condition of the floriculture sector. Speakers at the event highlighted the immense potential of floriculture in Nepal and emphasized the need for policies and programs focused on increasing production, adopting modern technologies, expanding markets, and promoting Nepali flowers in international markets.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by FAN Senior Vice President Ram Bahadur Tamang.
